One of these days, I will propose to my girlfriend. I just don’t know how I’m going to do it. Do any of you have any ideas? How did you propose or how were you proposed to? Any suggestions?

My hubby just asked me one day. No ring, nothing fancy. Of course, I said yes!

I think the best proposals are the ones revolving around something that has meaning for the two of you. For example, Ryan and I had milkshakes late at night at a local park for our first date, so having me meet him there with a ring over the straw would be really sweet, or maybe proposing where we had our first kiss. Even just kind of re-creating your first special date (ie the same restaurant, same movie, etc) and then proposing at the end of the evening or something. I think proposals based on just the two of you are always best, runner up would be doing something really special you know she really wants to do (concert she wants to see, broadway, etc)

As long as it is loving, she will say yes. I was proposed to while in my pajamas, on a Sunday morning. It was the most romantic thing ever. Rest assured, if she is planning to say yes, she will say yes regardless of “how” you ask her.
Good luck!!

Greg - how about somewhere that is special to the both of you. Like the first place you told her that you loved her, or the first place you kissed? Girls remember those things, and they hold a special place in our hearts.

My husband took me out to probably the nicest restaurant in Salt Lake. Then when we came out of the restaurant there was a horse and carriage waiting for us and he proposed after the carriage ride.

I woke up one morning and my ring was with all my others in the nightstand. No fuss and by putting it on I said yes.
Of course, I had to take it off and put it back in the box until we eloped because it was a wedding band and not an engagement ring, but it all meant the same thing.

I guess the best advice would be personalize it to her. A good way to tell what she likes is watch movies with her that have engagements in them, if she really likes it she’ll say something. My friend did that and then recreated that moment for his girlfriend.

My hubby asked me on our second “anniversary” of dating. I was driving him back to work from lunch and he asked me to pull over by a small pond. He asked me there and we both cried. He didn’t have a ring because he wanted to take me later that night to pick it out. I thought that was nice, but I wouldn’t have minded had he picked one out either.
I just suggest you do something that is special and meaningful to you both, even if it is something really simple. No matter what, she is going to love it and remember that day always.
