HD Radio
Posted on December 27th, 2007 at 8:57 pm by GregM

I had a great Christmas. One of my presents was a new radio for my car. The CD player had stopped working and it made a weird noise. After about two years of dealing with it, I’m so glad to have a new one! It has HD capabilities, but I have to buy a little box or something. Do any of you have HD radios? These aren’t the same thing as Sirius or XM. They’re not satellite radio. If you have an HD radio, what do you think? Is it worth it? Are there many stations?

Joint Replacement
Posted on December 18th, 2007 at 3:43 pm by GregM

A couple of people that I know had joint replacement surgery last Thursday morning. It is a procedure that is becoming more and more common. I hope my joints stay healthy, but I think that I may have a bad knee. It always gives out, and it constantly hurts. I do not know why or where I first hurt it. If I do have to have a joint replacement surgery, I will definitely explore my options. I want to make sure I get the best.

My House

My house is always interesting. You never know what is going to happen. If you asked Taryn, she’d probably agree. A little bit ago, I walked out into our living room and saw my mom wearing her parka. My sister was in the process of putting the leashes on the dogs. I asked if we were going somewhere. My mom said she was going sledding in the backyard. There’s just one problem with that: our backyard is flat. I quickly realized that the dogs were going to be pulling the sled. It was definitely a site to see. Elsie is a Boston Terrier, and Brody is a Shih Tzu. I bet they don’t weigh a combined thirty pounds. I think they were doing it to make a video to put on my mom’s blog. You should check it out.

Teeth
Posted on December 18th, 2007 at 3:17 pm by GregM

My mom almost became a dentist after she graduated from high school. It did not quite work out, but when I was growing up, my mom always made certain that my sister and I brushed our teeth very frequently. I have never had a cavity, and I hope I never get one. My family has been lucky that we have not had many dental problems. Something that does seem to cause some trouble in my family is sensitive teeth. My mom and my grandma both have very sensitive teeth that gives them problems on a regular basis. It seems that they especially have sensitivity issues when they are eating or drinking anything that is particularly hot or very cold. My mom found a new sensitive toothpaste that really seems to help. It is called Biotene. Unlike other toothpastes, Biotene is a sensitive toothpaste that that helps fix the problem of sensitive teeth. Other sensitive toothpastes simply cover up the terribly awful symptoms of sensitive teeth. If you suffer from sensitive teeth like my mom and grandma, you should definitely check out Biotene. It is the toothpaste that gets to the root of the problem, rather than simply covering up the symptoms.

Investment Property
Posted on December 17th, 2007 at 11:11 pm by GregM

Growing up as the son of a floor covering business owner, I got to see a lot of neat houses. Some of them were brand new, while others were very old and had a lot of character. The old houses were my favorites. I want to look into buying an old house and fixing it up and then selling it again. I want to make something old into something very beautiful. In order to do that, I’ll need to look into Investment Property Loans so that I can afford it. It will definitely require some investment, but I think it’ll be worth it.

Bulldog Update

I thought I should update you on the recent Bulldog events. They beat Florida State, making their fifth consecutive victory over a BCS team. That means that, in the past two seasons, they have beaten Florida State, Ohio State, Texas Tech, Virginia Tech, Michigan, Maryland, Purdue, Gonzaga, Tennessee, Indiana, and Notre Dame. They have been doing extremely well! They are up to 16th in the AP poll. It’s a very exciting time to be a Bulldog fan!

Johnny

My family is talking about what movies we want to go and see together. My mom and sister always love to see Johnny Depp. I must admit that I do not mind seeing his movies either. However, for me it is not because he is attractive, but instead because he is very entertaining. I loved him in Finding Neverland, as well as What’s Eating Gilbert Grape. These are to great films. Finding Neverland was out last year or the year before, and it was about the man who wrote Peter Pan. It also had Freddy Highmore in it, and it was one of the best movies I have seen in quite some time. I loved the scene when the kids did the play for their mother. What’s Eating Gilbert Grape was out in the 90s, and it was another great film. It had Leonardo DiCaprio in it, and he played a mentally challenged person, and Johnny Depp was his older brother. Johnny Depp’s character had to take care of Leonardo DiCaprio because their mother was so overweight that she could hardly move. I am pretty sure that I like Finding Neverland better, but they are both great movies. I think we are going to go see Sweeney Todd, Depp’s latest film. For more information, you should visit the official Sweeney Todd movie site or visit Sweeney Todd on MySpace.

Julia Carson

For years, the Indianapolis area has been represented in the U.S. House of Representatives by Julia Carson. Many Indianapolis area people were unhappy with her, but somehow she kept getting elected. It was announced that she passed away on Saturday morning. She’s been working for Indiana since the early 70s. Although I didn’t support her as a politician, she definitely served the Hoosier state for many years. Many will miss her.

Heating
Posted on December 16th, 2007 at 11:45 pm by GregM

It is cold. There is about 10 inches of snow on the ground, and my puppies are coming in and out of their doggie door with cold feet and they love to jump up on my lap, which then makes me even colder! I’m sitting out in my parents’ new room, but it’s not quite finished yet so it is a little bit drafty. We need to get some type of gas garage heaters out here so that we can all stay warm. There are a lot of different types out there, and I think it is a good alternative to conventional heating methods. I’ve been thinking about getting a little heater for my apartment. My bedroom is always warm, but my living room stays cold all the time. I guess it is something I need to consider.
